How to Show My Computer icon on Desktop in Windows 8


Microsofts latest operating system windows 8 is having metro UI desktop and the older version of the desktop also,but there is no my computer icon on the desktop.In older windows operating systems like Windows XP or Windows 7 you could easily show the my computer icon on the desktop by clicking the "Show on Desktop " option on  my computer in the start menu. But this option is no longer available in Windows 8.Even there is no Start menu in Windows 8 by default.
Here is a simple procedure with screenshots how to show My Computer icon in Windows 8

Step 1
Click on the Desktop in the Metro UI .It will bring you the the desktop.

This is the initial image of the Desktop

Step2

Right click on any blank space in desktop & select Personalize
Step 3
In the personalization window click on change desktop icons.You will find this in the top left corner of the personalization window.
Step 5
After clicking the change desktop icon option, "Desktop icon settings" will appear.Here you can select icons that you want to show in your desktop.Tick the small box for Computer and click ok.
Step 6
Your job is finished.Now we will be able to see the My computer icon on your desktop.Here is the final result ->
